I have a TCL roku smart tv. The simple remote has been working fine until suddenly last night when the back, up, and right buttons stopped working. I’ve changed the batteries, unplugged the tv, removed the batteries, and waited at least 30 seconds until I plugged everything back in. The problem was not fixed. There are no obstructions and the remote is clean. Is there another solution I’m missing? I really would rather not buy a new remote.
I don't know how long you have had the TCL TV but the remote may be under warranty. I had a TCL Roku remote go bad and TCL replaced it for me. I found the customer service excellent from TCL.
If you end up replacing the remote, a remote for a Roku TV from any manufacturer (other than HiSense and Sharp which issue a different set of IR signals) can be used with your TCL Roku TV.
You can find Roku TV remotes for around $10 at Amazon and other retailers. Just be sure it is a remote for a Roku TV since Roku devices use a different command set.
The fastest to get replacement remote is at your local walmart or best buy. Get the separately sold Roku voice remote, it won't work straight out of the box it will have to paired to your roku tv.
