Moved into a new house that has a smoke detector in the master bedroom. When I use my volume control on my Roku Device it sets it off for two cycles. Then it stops. Not sure if it’s a frequency thing or what.
It certainly sounds that way.
You are likely using the IR to control the TV, not CEC. And, it may be that the IR signal for that TV interferes with the smoke detector.
Have you pulled out the original TV remote and tried it? Does it set off the alarm too? If so, that would confirm it.

The power button and the volume control is setting off the smoke alarm in my bedroom when I watch tv in there. It only beeps for one cycle but scares the daylights out of the dogs. Anyone else have that problem?
