Originally the roku soundbar remote would only control tv's by hdmi-cec, no iR. But there many tv brands that won't come out of standby via signal sent by cec, so Roku upgraded the menu so you can program the tv power by IR, and only the tv power no volume which still cec only. So turn on cec in the sharp settings, refresh the cec devices so it recognizes the roku soundbar as a cec device, try the tv controls.
If it doesn't power on, go into the soundbar settings:
settings> remote & devices> remote> remote in USE> program tv power key> follow prompts
