Roku voice remote not recognizing App Name

Jump to solution

I recently purchased the Roku Express 4k+ (3941X, does not appear in product link options) with remote that has voice control. I have been able to launch most all channels successfully. However, one channel, HiDive (pronounced like "High Dive") will not launch properly. I am sure there are other apps where the name is not recognized. Is there a way to address this?

I would think the easiest way would be to allow for apps to be given a custom name by the user, if desired. I was unable to find this capability. Alternatively, if I just knew what the remote expected, then I could vocalize that, but I have guessed all alternate pronunciations of which I could think and none worked.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

@catterbu

Was able to open the HIDive Channel by saying either command. (spell out HI)

1. Open "H" "I" Dive

2. Open "H" 'I" Dive Channel.
