Just purchased new roku streaming stick from best buy. The device, during setup, searches for remote but never finds it. I try to press the pair button, but everything says a light should light green, that never happens. I tried my own new batteries in case batteries were dead in box, no different.

What am I missing?

The color of the light isn't important, just that you press and hold the pairing key for 3 seconds and release, it is okay if the light goes out just let it communicate with roku don't touch a thing until you get a big DONE on screen.

Sure, there is no light, ever, and holding the button does nothing.

Its defective, take it back.
