My Roku remote has suddenly stopped controlling the power on/off as well as the volume of my Hisense TV. It used to work fine. I put in fresh batteries. I also tried repairing the remote. Neither attempt resolved the issue. Once in the Home screen, the remote works fine. It just doesn't control the native TV power and volume functions anymore, like it did previously. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob Manfre
One thing to keep in mind is that the TV power and volume are IR, even though the Roku-remote connection is WiFi Direct. If anything is in the way of the remote and the IR sensor on the TV, it won't work.
Does the TV's native remote work? It's likely IR also, so if it works, that means the IR sensor on the TV is probably clean and able to receive signals. You'd want to verify the end of the Roku remote is clean.
Once the TV IR sensor and remote are confirmed to have a good line of sight, try configuring (not really pairing, just configuring) the remote to work with that model TV.
Settings > Remotes & devices > Remotes
You'd either try to pick one, if showing, and re-configure it. Or, you'd Set up a new device.

I am also having this problem with remote with LG TV in the last couple of days. It used to work fine. If I go to try to re set up the remote, when I try to tell it is an LG TV, it says "no search results", samsung, sony, does the same thing, no search results for anything. I have #RC574 with #4630x Roku Premiere+ software 10.0.0 build4165-2
Solved - Rolled back update to 9.4.0 and it started working again!
The original remote for the premiere+ 4630 didn't have IR for tv's, so going into settings under remote & devices is useless with that remote. 4630 remote controlled the tv volume by hdmi-cec. Try restarting the roku or the tv? See if you can refresh the cec devices in the tv menu?
If you purchased a newer remote for your 4630, and it has IR on board for tv's, try Goldstar or vizio as the brand?
I rolled back the software update to 9.4.0 and it started working again! Must be an issue with the latest update that was installed on April 10th
How did you roll back your update?
Hey @waynelewis1
I hope you're doing well.
Could you tell us more about the issue you're running into? If your Roku remote lose volume and TV power after the latest update, please perform a software update from your device using the instructions below.
Confirm the dialogue box to proceed with download and installation. Note that your Roku player will automatically download the latest software the next time when it checks for an update. After the Roku player finishes restarting, your TV volume and power functions should be restored.
After the Roku player finishes restarting, then your TV control functions have not been restored, please visit this link for the next steps: What to do if the power and volume buttons stop working
If still no luck, post here your device ID, software version & build, and your TV make/model. All information can be found by going to Settings > System > About.
All the best,
Kariza
