Roku remote draining batteries

My roku remote has been draining the batteries behind normal usage. I will put in new batteries and two weeks later they will be dead. I have had to triage the batteries  4 times in the past 2 months. Yet my Amazon Firestick can go over one year without replacing the batteries. Why is your remote so faulty?

Re: Roku remote draining batteries

@RokuDanny-R

Thanks for the prompt response. I understand that the remote is out of warranty but this is not a recent issue - it has been persisting from the week I purchased it. I just happened to come across Roku forums recently to see that this is a common & persisting issue with a lot of customers over the years. So I decided to reach out to see if there is a software or bug fix available for Roku remotes.

I have ordered a new remote already. But I am concerned that the issue may persist with the new one as well - as I still see many customers raising the same complaint over the years. Are there any recommendations to follow while setting up the new remote to ensure I don't face quick battery drainage again? I just want to avoid raising the issue again, returning devices, etc.

Thanks, Milind

Re: Roku remote draining batteries

Hogwash. My remote is brand new and draining batteries every week.

My old remote did not do this, the reason a purchased a new one is because the rubber button wore through.
