Roku Ultra home screen app icons NOT synching with Harmony Elite remote

Roku Ultra model 4670X, Software version 14.1. Roku Ultra (4670 series)  Screenshot_20250411-053537~2.png

Logitech Harmony Elite hub + Remote

Issue: Roku home screen icons now showing as numbers.

I reset Roku device. Reset hub and remote. After synching with Roku, no tiles are shown. How to restore?

I know Logitech/Harmony stopped supporting remotes, so that may have something to do with it.  You may get more help on their forum:

Re: Roku Ultra home screen app icons NOT synching with Harmony Elite remote

There is not more Harmony Community. But the point I am making is the Harmony and Roku HAD worked fine. The only changes are with the Roku software. Of course, I cannot expect Roku to test or even care about compatibility with a dead product. But I wanted to point this out anyway. There are still LOTS of Harmony users and their hub is super. I noticed the issue when we added a new app to the home screen and it came across as a number on the Harmony remote. It would be nice to get the icons back. Unfortunately, there is no way to override this. Thank you for your reply.

Re: Roku Ultra home screen app icons NOT synching with Harmony Elite remote

That's too bad about the forum.  I don't understand why they couldn't still support it.  It's not like everyone got rid of their remotes.

I don't think it's the Roku software.  I saw something recently that said that Roku changed the URLs to the apps in the "channel store".  Those numbers look like app IDs, so it (the remote) could be using them to access the icon on Roku's site and the URLs may be no longer valid.  That's just a theory and, if true, there's probably no way to fix it since there's no way to update the Harmony software.

That's for sure! Harmony is still popular and it's not like Logitech is out of business! Many people were confused by its decision to abandon Harmony. Interestingly, their app approaches Favorites slightly differently. It shows Stars with the name of the favorite underneath. So something is still working and the Harmony Hub IS communicating properly with Roku. It just changed somehow where it can't find the icons for the remote. I'll see if there is a contact point for the app and write about this.

Anyway, I'm going to close this now, but hopefully there will be a resolution down the line. Thank you for the reply @renojim

Re: Roku Ultra home screen app icons NOT synching with Harmony Elite remote

@Anon4  I just know I need a bigger remote as I am physically disabled. Usually my husband does the remote but he is very ill right now, so I do need to find something helpful and I won't be able to keep my TV if I can't use it by myself. I am heartbroken and angry because I can't afford a new TV right now. I love the TV but if it's not accessible there's no point at all.
