I'm about to go pick up a TCL Roku TV. I currently have a Roku Ultra connected to a Samsung (which is failing and therefore being replaced by the Roku TV)
I have 2 remotes for the Ultra. Will I be able to pair one of them with the Roku TV? The Ultra will go to our cottage for a bedroom TV and we really won't need 2 remotes there.
Or does the Roku TV use a completely different remote type?
Yes, the wifi roku ultra remote will pair with your new roku tv.
I'd recommend buying a Sony/samsung/lg/whatever TV and get another ultra. Gives you best of both worlds. I have sony with ultra so no HBO on Roku no problem. No YouTube tv on Roku no problem no Facebook watch on Roku no problem but still get all that Roku does do right!
Appreciate the thought, but since I don't use any of those I won't really miss them. Got the TCL 50S535 for $449 at Best Buy. They matched Amazon's price. And it's QLED. The little spats over content carriage happen in almost every media delivery system. Cable, satellite, streaming services, etc. Almost any of them can be worked around.
