Roku Soundbar Remote Batteries going dead

I have a Roku Soundbar and the batteries go dead in my remote every week. Is there a software update or any other fix besides taking them out when I’m not using it?

Re: Remote Batteries going dead

Hey @Ktm0981

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Battery life will vary based on usage. For normal use, the remote batteries may last two months or longer. Does your Roku remote support private listening? This may also be one factor for the battery drain.

Please reply here with the serial number of the Roku device associated with the affected remote. It can be viewed by navigating to Settings > System > About.

Once we have the information needed, we'll be able to forward it to our support team for further assistance.

Re: Roku remote draining batteries

I have the very same issue with the RC 490 batteries for the sound bar. I installed new batteries yesterday and today they are reading 85% where yesterday was at 100%

Re: Remote Batteries going dead

Haven’t gotten a response on this issue for 2 weeks now and it is a clear issue with others having the same problem. Hoping to hear something soon and not ignored
