As soon as I can finish transitioning to all other manufacturers products I will NEVER use another Roku product again...cheaply made and over the past 15 years I have gone through 5+ Roku's...the remote control is of the worst design, and design matters, not user friendly at all...can't hold the stupid thing without it slipping and the volume control is constantly NOT WORKING...having to dig through settings to re-pair makes it frustrating and not worth it!!!!!!...maybe test runs should be done with consumers that are actually buying the product...WTF!!! Roku is just another cheaply made product from CHINA!!!...we ALL NEED to STOP buying this **bleep** made in CHINA!!!

No...that is what I am saying...I do not need instructions on how to pair my remote and adjust tv settings, etc...I am NOT technically challenged...I am declaring that the design of the Roku remote is flawed...the remote itself is too small, and I have small hands as I am petite...but this slim and slightly satin texture causes the remote to slip in my hand when applying pressure to the button of choice...it slips and turns and makes it difficukt to use properly for controlloing the viewing...and the re-pairing is becoming a nuisance and I turn off the roku and use my tv apps...it's becoming a redundent and nearly unnecessary device as tv's have most of the apps that people really use...Roku was great back in the day, but now is becoming obsolete...
original remote...device maybe a year old...no lights what so ever and the serial #SODA23D87DRJ...and my advice is sell the voice activated devices separate from those w/out voice activation...because that stupid little button on the side interjects constantly when I never use voice activation and trips up settings everytime...P.O.S. device!!!...POOR DESIGN...and made in CHINA!

I am constantly needing to re-pair my remote. The rechargeable battery is currently at 89%. It will work for one use and the it doesn't. It wont light up when I say "Hey Roku". Currently I am pushing the power button and then the Guide button so that I can get to "live tv". I bought this at the same time as I bought the ONN Tv. I have a voice remote pro downstairs that has worked great for several years and that is why I bought this on for the bedroom.
@Flash111Out of curiosity, have you ever bothered to install a network app like WiFi Analyzer for Android or something similar by Apple? I ask since Roku remotes connect via WiFi direct and if you've chosen a congested channel, its possible that's the issue. I've been a Roku user since the first gen player and never have these problems since I constantly monitor the environment. Not only will the app show you how many others use the same channel/band but it provides channel ratings so you can select the best one. Wisdom tells us to focus on solutions so you might want to give this a run. Regardless, best of success!
I have done this numerous times attempting to narrow down the issue...I also run tests on the wifi to evaluate where the numbers are...sorry, but de nada...
...so see Roku people...it's not just me...this individual is having sim/same problems...poor design Roku!
