Re: Steaming Stick + issue with remote

Thanks for the post, @Pacjoe436.

Can you please provide us with more specific information about the issue you are experiencing?

In addition, have you tried running the steps on this link to get your remote back up and running? http://go.roku.com/remotehelp

Please keep us posted and we'll continue assisting you from there!

Thanks,
Mary

Re: Steaming Stick + issue with remote

Yes I have tried those things. I have a simple IR remote and I’ve tried other simple IR remotes but none of them work. However, my remote works on other IR rokus, just not my own.

Re: Steaming Stick + issue with remote

If you really have a Streaming Stick+, no IR remote will ever work with it.  It does not even have an IR receiver because sticks are usually used behind the TV set where IR can't reach.

For Roku stick products you need a remote that controls via WiFi-direct, like the Roku Voice Remote.  You can get this from Roku (https://www.roku.com/products/accessories/streaming-stick#Remotes) or from sources like Amazon. Walmart, Target, etc.

Re: Steaming Stick + issue with remote

Does it accept a hdmi cable, or is there a hdmi connector built-in? Sticks have hdmi built-in and can't accept a hdmi cable. An express has hdmi input for use with separate hdmi cable.

Re: Steaming Stick + issue with remote

So its express and should accept IR remotes, if you have two remote not controlling the roku then its the probably the roku at fault. You can test the remotes by pointing it at your cellphone camera if you see flashes its emitting IR commands.

These IR remotes can't have tv controls like power and volume keys, if they do then they're roku tv IR remotes and are worthless on roku express.

Re: Steaming Stick + issue with remote

Yeah I did that and they were working. I saw a little light blinking when I did it. Im pretty sure the problem is with the roku itself, not the remote
