When I try to pair the new remote control to a Roku device, I get this message, but it keeps connecting until the device turns off

Make sure you try new batteries and place the remote close to the Roku device.  People have reported that the batteries that came with the remote were no good.

Have you tried the troubleshooting steps available in this Support link: How to resolve issues with your Roku® simple remote or Roku voice remote? If so and the issue persists, please reply here with the serial number of the Roku device associated with the affected remote. It can be found at the back or underneath the player itself.
