I have 2 Roku remotes that stopped working to control the actual Roku. They work on the TV itself (Samsung), turning it off/on, volume and mute. But the arrow keys, Netflix, Hulu, etc. buttons, home button, etc. all don't work. This is on a Streaming Stick+. I swapped it for my Express+. Same thing with those 2 remotes, no change. I paired the remote from the Express with the Streaming Stick, same result. So I put the Express in my TV, the remote that was originally with it works fine with it in this TV. So I put the Streaming Stick in the TV that used to have my Express in it, and the original "faulty" remote works. Both TV's are Samsung, I'm confused. Anyone else experience this?
We need to find out what Roku you have. We need the model numbers: Settings > System > About

On your TV with the Streaming Stick+ (model 3810 perhaps?) do you actually see the Roku menu? I'm assuming you are since you said you paired the remote, but you did not explicitly state that. And, of course, pairing with and Express is impossible, so I'm wanting to be very sure what the situation is.
What I'm about to say next is not intended as a solution, but as a troubleshooting step to determine the details of the issue. Can you see the Stick+ via the Roku app on your mobile device? It has a built in remote functionality that can control a Roku, if it can see the Roku on your network.

Purchased a RC-MC1 voice remote pro recently and paired it to a Roku Streaming Stick + . It has been working fine until today at 11:30am 7-18. I was using headphones connected to remote then suddenly no sound. The remote also would not select/display/operate any Roku functions. It would still control volume and power on TV. I also have an older remote paired to this streaming stick but it continued to work fine.
So I presume RC-MC1 remote became completely unpaired from Roku stick. Everything I could find on web said remove batteries etc. to pair. I see no way to remove batteries from this thing, its rechargeable, no access.
Fix: Unplug power to streaming stick and wait for a minute. Press pairing button on back bottom of remote till light starts flashing. Plug streaming stick back in. After a few seconds (pairing remote is displayed) Follow prompts. It's working fine now. Hope it doesn't happen again! Don't know if this works on older remotes with pairing button on inside.

Yes, I read what you wrote, but that's not quite right. You cannot pair a remote to the Express or Express+. You can to the Express 4K (3940) and the Express 4K+ (3941). Express 4K is not the same as Express. The similarity of names of models can cause much confusion, so the model number is the way to know what devices you have.

@DBDukesYou can in fact pair remotes to Express/Express+ models (I have one paired to a 3910):

Does my Roku device support a voice remote?
Voice search and voice control is supported on all Roku devices shipped since 2017, along with several older devices. A quick way to confirm if you are already using a Roku voice remote with your Roku streaming device is to look on your remote for a voice button that has either a microphone icon (on newer remotes) or a magnifying glass icon
(on older remotes).
If you see a voice button, you can press and hold it to use push-to-talk voice commands with your Roku device. For detailed instructions, learn how you can use push-to-talk voice to search and control your Roku device.
If you do not see a voice button, you may want to use the Roku mobile app to issue voice commands. Or, you may want to upgrade to a Roku voice remote after confirming that your Roku device supports Roku Voice and can be controlled with a Roku voice remote (such as a Roku Voice Remote, Roku Enhanced Voice Remote, or Roku Voice Remote Pro). To find the model of your device, go to the home screen and select Settings > System > About.

Thanks for the info. That's twice in the last 24 hours I've provided out of date info. I may need to step back for a bit and get caught up.

Thanks for the updates so far, unfortunately what @Patrick225 said has not worked for me. I tried all the versions of taking the batteries out, repairing and unplugging the Roku to no avail.
My models:
Express+ = 3931 (as noted, comes with a pairable remote)
Streaming Stick+ = 3810
Well, worth a try right.
I know this thread is months old, but for frustrated people (like myself) having this issue and stumble across THIS thread? This seemed to work. My Voice Remote Pro had seemingly been “lagging” or lose connection lately, even though I could still mute and adjust volume of the tv. Sometimes it would work, then stop. Frustrating.
Tried all the resets and reboots. Nada.
The unplug (in my case streaming stick 4K+) then pairing mode on remote (press and hold what seems like 30 seconds until flashes) then plugged my streaming stick back in, and voila. Working again.
I’ll update this if it becomes just a temporary injunction to my sanity, and resumes its misbehavior.
If it doesn't continue to work properly try contacting Roku. I think I've seen in some posts.. that hardware issues may exist with some Voice Remote Pros. I think they will help you.
