I have a new Sony TV and a new Roku Express4K+. When I use the Roku remote and I try to increase or lower the volume, the volume won't stop - it keeps increasing to the max until you push to lower it, then it just keeps going down until the sound is off. It will not stop moving in either direction, and I have to keep reversing it so it doesn't blow out my TV speakers when it's raising the volume. What can I do to fix this?
Reprogram the remote for your tv, skip the first positive result by pressing no, even if the music mutes, see if later codes work better.
settings> remote & devices> remote> remote in use> program tv> follow prompts
I don't totally understand your instructions, because the problem I have is with the Roku remote, not the TV remote, but I'll try to follow the instructions and see what happens. Thanks.
I had Sony Support to reprogram my TV remote; but it didn't make sense to Sony or myself that this is an issue with the Sony TV remote. And sure enough, we re-programmed the Sony TV remote, and turned on the Roku and it immediately took control of everything when I touched the volume button. Sony believes it's a bad Roku remote, so what do I need to do to replace it?
Fortunately, it looks like my remote was okay, after all. I restarted my Roku system and the volume button problem was gone. I hope it stays that way.
