New Streaming Stick +, my remote paired beautifully and was setup seemingly fine to the tv, for on/off and volume. However, it ONLY turns the tv off. Even when I hit the power button immediately after turning the tv off, it still doesn’t work. Once I manually turn the tv back on, the controls work as expected. And I can turn the tv back off. Just not on again. Any ideas??

The code you stopped on seems to have a discrete OFF commands instead of a toggle. Redo tv programming but skip the first positive result by pressing no, and see if subsequent code will work better on your tv.

Tried all 10 codes, nothing else works at all. Guess I’m out of luck? No cheats?

FYI I found a workaround. After trying every code for Toshiba and several other brands with no luck, I changed a setting on my tv. I switched the “auto power” setting to “on”. The power button still doesn’t work when the TV is off, but the Menu button activates the Roku which powers the TV. Good enough for me!

You didn't mention what tv brand you have, but from the other thread you responded to, I see you have toshiba, you could try tv brand Apex and see if it doesn't a power toggle on your toshiba?

Thanks for the suggestion - I did try Apex and a couple of others with no luck. I was able to find the workaround which activates the power when I hit the Roku “home” button, and that’s good enough for me. One remote = win!
