The only way to "fix" it is to go through the setup to control your TV and pick a TV brand different than your TV's. Pressing a TV control button will still do something, but it shouldn't affect the TV. If it does, try another brand.
P.S. - Roku devices don't turn off. The power button on the remote only affects the TV.
