Remotes

Hello,

I am in need of a replacement roku remote but I am struggling to find an original and know what others would be compatible. Please can someone help me?

What model Roku do you have?  Settings/System/About

For non stick models, you can get an IR-only Roku-compatible Universal remote at Walmart/Best Buy/etc for $5-15.

For stick models (or if you want Voice and Point Anywhere) you can get an official $20 Voice Remote (RCAL7R) or $30 Voice Remote Pro (RCS01R) at the same or from Roku.com.

I'm not sure the model. I got it from my sister. It's in a green box and just has the name roku, no number. The serial number is 2MD5AW001483. I have tried to follow that link but it says it doesn't exist anymore 😞

It is a roku streaming stick 2nd generation 3500r. I think. Its a purple stick, green box.

Are you in the UK?

I wouldnt bother with that 3500 (its a 2014 model) - its not worth it without the remote, especially considering the cost of new device is $20-40 - I recommend the $30 Express 4K+.

So I can't just get a remote, I need to buy a new stick as well? Yes I am in the UK.

Its not really worth buying a remote for, and there isnt a currently available remote for the 3500 (current remotes are 3600 and later).

Furthermore, Roku.com doesnt directly offer replacement remotes (or other accessories) in the UK - they use an external company who's ebay site doesnt exist.  Youd have to buy it elsewhere (Curry's?) - you can look on ebay etc, but again, its not worth it - thats a 7 year old model, and you can get a whole new Roku (including a remote) for £30-50 - I recommend the Express 4K.
