I have had this Roku on this TV for the past two years. Yesterday a "Sales" promotion screen pops up for "new features" introducing the Roku OS 10.5. I have the choice to click on "see what's new" or "no thanks".
For some reason this locks up the remote and I can not move forward. I have three other Roku set up on different TV and am not having this problem with them. They are all older TVs
Unplug the actually power cord for bit, not the hdmi cable, plug it back in it will reboot and leave you on the home screen.
did not work
screen came back to 10.5 new features screen
The same for me. I unplugged the power cord from the power strip for over 10 minutes. The sales screen shows up again. What do we do???
Try the Right cursor key.
Same problem here. Premature or unsupported release? Disappointing. Looking into other services now; a waste of time trying to obtain assistance to resolve on Roku site.
GARY
I had the same thing happen with notice of an OS 10.5 update. Screen froze up and controller would not work. I unplugged the power cord at the power strip for several minutes. When I plugged the power back in and turned Roku on, the same info screen came up. After a minute or two, we got a picture on the show we were playing. However, the picture is in the old style format rather than the modern wide screen format. This means we are watching the show on 3/4 ths of the television screen, which wasn't the case before. The show is from the 1970s (All Creatures Great and Small), so it was filmed in the old format, but we were able to watch on the full screen prior to the update. Leave it to Roku to offer now help at all on this issue and leave users to figure it out themselves.
Unplugged both cable and power for ten minutes. Now working. Second time I did this, first time no change.
