Any help with this without buying a new remote every few years?

Roku doesn't sell parts for remotes, not even battery doors. 😞 Sorry but have live with it as is or buy a new remote.

If you have a steady hand, you might be able to make something legible with a fine or extra-fine point paint pen.

The only remote I've had this happen to is the one supplied by TLC for my TLC Roku TV.  The manufacturers of "Roku TVs" license the Roku operating software but provide all the hardware themselves, including the remotes.

I've not yet had the markings rub off of a Roku-supplied remote.

Yes this is a TLC Roku TV remote.

Please be advised that remotes for Roku TVs are manufactured directly by the TV manufacturer. We would recommend reaching out to TCL's customer support team to report the issue. They are the best ones to help you out with that matter.

It seems to me the better solution is to get a replacement made by Roku and not TCL and not have the same issue. Thanks

Be aware that the Roku Simple Remote, which is the IR remote Roku makes, is not compatible with Roku TVs. Roku does not make any IR remotes that work with Roku TVs.

However, the Roku Voice Remotes are compatible with Roku TVs.

Thank you yes, I have the voice remote 🙂

I use it without line of site all the time, My Premier+ and old Roku 3 still work and do not need line of site (and also still have all the markings on the buttons).

Thanks again everyone for your input. I know not to get a replacement from TCL lol.
