remote still frozen (we did all the suggested tips - batteries in and out, etc. - remote won't pair. we had to use my phone in the interim. How can we get this problem fixed?
mine is stuck on main menu--remote not pairing with it and I have tried all the fixes many many times. If I have to buy a new roku pkg--which one should I buy that actually works?
Thanks for the posts.
We would recommend taking a look at the information provided by our Support page here: Fix your remote
Please keep us posted what you find out.
Thanks,
Danny
Please respond to my actual question--I had already tried all the fixes recommended including what you suggested with the Fix your remote section
Uggh....we are having the same issue. Our simple remote (no voice control) stopped working after the last update (coincidence??ha, not) Tried all the suggested resets and fixes...no go... so now we are looking for a replacement. Seems only the voice control options are available. Hmmm.... I do not want a remote that "listens" to me....hahaha. Call me weird? but I do not like Alexa either!! we looked on ebay but no replacement for the RC-80 can be found.
It seems they want to be in our living rooms as well as in our wallets, alllll the time. So I guess we will try a universal remote to see if that works? I am successfully using the app on my phone, but if I am gone and hubby wants to watch TV... he is out of luck?? this is all wrong. Thanks alot Roku.
Hi - My remote gets frozen about once a day. I can find no article at "fix my remote" but rebooting the Roku box works to free up the remote. Any clues?
Thanks
@Bisquick, does your remote have a pairing button in the battery compartment? What's the model number of your Roku displayed under Settings->System->About? Does just pulling a battery out of the remote and putting it back in instead of restarting the Roku get the remote working again? Don't rule out bad batteries just because they work sometimes.
There is no pairing button - remote works great after rebooting box but freezes if left alone for about a day. I also have a universal remote that responds the same way so I'm thinking it's not the remote's fault - possible that it's the Roku update that was applied on the 17th of November. Model 4210X-Roku 2
@Bisquick, do you have a new "power saving" option under Settings->System->Power? If so, try disabling it.
I don't have that setting. This just started happening. Hitting OK when the intro screen shows works fine - then using cursor keys doesn't work. The remotes try and communicate because you can hear the little beep sound but nothing moves. Like I said, it's only after letting it sit for about 24 hours, kind of like there's a malfunctioning clock inside it that resets something.
