I've encountered a strange and persistent problem that appears to be related to a previous community post from 2021, which unfortunately didn't have a reliable resolution.
Last night, while watching a show, I attempted to increase the volume. Instead, I was abruptly taken to a screen prompting me to add the RDIO app, even though it's no longer available. I've never used RDIO, and frankly, had never even heard of it until this problem arose. This RDIO screen now appears whenever I press most buttons on my remote. The Home button is completely unresponsive, and the Back button functions as a Down arrow.
I've tried several troubleshooting steps, including:
None of these actions have resolved the issue. My remote is a basic model, so I cannot perform a remote reset or pairing. Given that this issue was reported years ago, I'm hoping someone has discovered a solution. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, the solution is to get a new remote or use the mobile app as a remote. The remote is malfunctioning. You may be able to take it apart and clean it, but that may or may not fix it.
