Volume roku streaming stick + stopped working after 7 weeks old. How to return. I can turn volume up but can not turn down. Batteries are good. Mute button still working.
Keep in mind that the volume control on the remote would be IR and connecting to the TV directly. If there is an issue, it's with the remote and not with the Roku device itself.
Have you tried re-pairing the remote to the TV? You don't need to re-pair to the Stick (power/volume doesn't use the Roku device, rememer), just the TV power/volume control.

Yes. Repaired to tv. I can tell the button is broken. It clicks when scrolling up the volume, but when trying to scroll volume down button is flat and no clicks. Volume up works. The separate mute button works. I have another roku device and no problem w remote. Purchased at best buy.
It sounds like the Volume down connection on the remote's volume rocker switch has gone dead.
TV controls on the remote (power toggle, mute toggle, volume up/down) are sent to the tv via infrared signal. If you have a digital camera (including one built into a mobile phone) you can confirm IR operation by pointing the remote at the camera lens and observing in the camera view screen. A working IR signal from the remote should be viewable on the camera screen.
If it's still under warranty, then a return might be the way to go. If they'd simply replace the remote, that would be the easiest thing. If they require the entire everything be returned, oh well.
