Recently my remote (RC-AL5) broke and was replaced under warranty by remote (RC-EL5). They look the same except some of the channel buttons on the bottom are different (Hulu and Sling were replaced by Global and Google Play). Can anyone tell me if there are any other differences?
There wasn't any difference between the rc-el1 and rc-al7. Same for the rc-el3 over the rc-al9. So I don't see the rc-el5 being any different then the rc-al5. Probably just new manufacturers.
And the partner buttons can be different even on identical models.
I just got RC-EL5 remote, biggest difference between it and rc-al5 is the new remote will control non-roku tv's by IR, old only controlled Roku tv's by IR, and Wifi. Of couse non-roku tv don't pair via wifi. You used to get a message saying your remote the rc-al5 isn't compatible with remote settings programming. I paired it using roku express 4k+ and samsung tv.
