Remote Finder is still broken in the most recent firmware update. Can we please get a timetable of when this is going to get fixed?
Thanks for the post.
Can you please provide us the following information:
-Roku device model
-serial number
-device ID
-software OS/version
(these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
-does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button)
-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing
-when did you start seeing this issue? was this feature working previously?
With more information we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
@RokuDanny-R Still not working for me either. I'm shocked - shocked I tell you!
Model: 4670X Roku Ultra
Serial #: YJ00EL718550 (KW905E718550)
Device ID: KW905E718550
Software Version: 10.0.0 build 4195-46 (finally)
Timestamp: 2021-05-20T23:52:19Z
Does this issue occur on a specific channel? No, anywhere, including the Home screen. I've tried it with the button on the Roku and I've tried using my phone as a remote to navigate to Settings -> Remotes & Devices -> <The remote> -> Find remote. Nothing works unless I actually do it with the remote, since then the remote is already awake.
Tracker ID: 50-201-592
Steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing: Seriously? This is a 12 page thread of steps to reproduce the issue we're seeing. Nothing has changed.
When did you start seeing this issue? Was this feature working previously? For about a year now, as we all know. Honestly not sure if it ever worked on this particular Ultra because I had to get a new one around the time this thread was started (but a few months before I noticed the problem). It worked just fine on my previous Ultra but that was last spring before people started reporting this issue and so was probably on an earlier software version anyway.
@Coliver1991 has been posting about the problem in this thread since August of last year. What's with suddenly trying to treat this as if he's filing a new bug report?
Can you please provide us the following information:
-Roku device model: 4670X - Roku Ultra
-serial number: YJ007T145861
-device ID: KW9067145861
-software OS/version: 10.0. Build 4198-46
-does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel: The Remote finder button does not work, When I press the button an alert comes up on the screen saying that the remote is being signaled but the remote doesn't actually make any noise, this does not occur on a specific channel.
-tracker ID when this issue occurs: 61-201-677
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing: Pressing the remote finder button and it not working.
-when did you start seeing this issue? was this feature working previously?: This feature has never worked properly, it was broken out of the box.
Model: 4670RW Roku Ultra
Serial #: YJ004M927774
Device ID: KXA084927774
Software Version: 10.0.0 build 4195-46
Timestamp: 2021-05-21T18:28:13Z
Does this issue occur on a specific channel? No. In fact, considering that we're trying to find our missing remote, we probably aren't watching any channel.
Tracker ID: 74-202-708
Steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing: This is exceedingly well documented, but here goes again: 1. Don't touch the remote for a few minutes. 2. Press the FIND button on the base. 3. The screen shows it is attempting to ring the remote. 4. Notice that the remote is silent and does not make any sound. 5. Verify that it's a timeout/sleep issue by pressing a button on the remote then quickly pressing the FIND button again then listen to the remote blow its whistle. This feature is still pretty much useless.
When did you start seeing this issue? Was this feature working previously? It has never worked properly. Not since I unboxed the unit on 10/18/2020.
@RokuDanny-R So just to be clear, we have almost a year of history on this exact same issue in the original thread, and now you're starting a new thread why? So it looks like a new issue at first glance and not something with a lengthy history of not being fixed?
For the record, I just talked someone into settling for an Express instead of an Ultra for the third time in the last 6 months based on this feature not working. It's more cost effective to just get the cheaper model and a Tile tracker, and you'll actually be able to find your remote with that setup.
Can you please provide us the following information:
-Roku device model: 4670X-Roku Ultra
-serial number: YJ00HW200163
-device ID: KW906H200163
-software OS/version:. 10.0.0 Build 4198-46
(these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
-does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button)
No, remote finder never works.
-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times). 63-203-172
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing. Push remote finder button on Ultra. There is no sound from the remote. Refer to my previous ticket, and the 12 page long thread associated with it. @PMX and @RokuDanny-R know the deal.
-when did you start seeing this issue? was this feature working previously?
Straight out of the box. It has never worked correctly.

Roku device model: 4670x
-serial number: YJ00FK142265
-device ID: KW906F142265
-software OS/version: 10.0.0:4195
-does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button): nope, happens all the time. As if the remote goes to sleep and doesn't "wake up" until you click q button. The remote finder stops working after a few minutes of no use. Regardless of distance from the ultra unit. Could be immediately next to it and still nothing. It's astounding you have not found a solution to a very very well known issue.
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing: leave the remote alone for a few minutes and then try and use the remote finder. Doesn't work.
-when did you start seeing this issue? was this feature working previously? Same day I bought it about a year ago. FIX IT!!!!!! OR REFUND YOUR CUSTONERS FOR FALSE ADVERTISING.
I just set up a Roku Ultra 2020 (4800X) last night for the first time and upgraded it to the latest software. The remote works great, but the remote finder feature doesn't work at all. It displays a notice with a countdown on the TV that it is sounding the remote, but there is no sound coming from the remote, which is about 10 feet away with direct line of sight in the same room.
The remote has new batteries, and when I use the remote to test it in the settings it works flawlessly. Obviously, that's not an option if I'm trying to find the remote.
It seems like this feature should have gone through some more testing before being advertised as a selling point.
