Remote Auto Scrolling to the Right

My remote starts scrolling right every few seconds. It scrolls right on the menu screen. Once a video is playing, it starts scrolling right again and fast forwards whatever show I am trying to watch. It is extremely frustrating as you can imagine. I attempted changing the batteries and restarting the Roku, but the problem persists. If you could please assist me in any way possible it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

First, let's determine if the problem originates in the remote.  If you take the batteries out, does the problem continue or does it stop?

If it continues, see if a system restart fixes it.  If you have sufficient control with the batteries back in, use Roku menu path Settings > System > System restart (Or for Roku TV: Settings > System > Power > System restart)

If you don't have sufficient control via remote, try pulling the power plug to the device for a minute or so then plugging it back in.
