ROKU Ultra 4802 remote not responding to any buttons

I have many ROKU devices and am well versed with the quircks of getting them to work again. This time the rechargeable remote shows on TV when its plugged into a charger that it is 100% charged. The power button and volume would usually work when there is a glitch, this time nothing works very odd and I had this unit for 2 years now without any issues prior. The basic ROKU it has issues all the time in the other room. The mobile app remote works great so the module is working fine as does the LG TV remote works too. I have two Ultra 4802 systems in the house, is it possible to take the other and learn it to this Roku to verify its a remote issue vs a pairing issue. I tried the button on the back for 10 seconds and nothing lights up. like it is suppose too. Its hard to trouble shoot when the remote is dead to every button. I have cycled the power several times for more than 10 seconds each time which usually fixes most issues but not this time. The IR might be bad in the remote but that's why I want to try my other 4802 remote and see if it will fix the issue. What is the correct way to relearn a new remote for testing purposes ?

Thanks

Re: ROKU Ultra 4802 remote not responding to any buttons

I'm not sure what you mean by "relearn", but if you have two voice remotes you should be able to pair either one with either Roku device.  If you can't get the light to flash by either holding the pairing button for 5 seconds or simultaneously holding the Home and Back buttons (the two buttons next to each other at the top of the remote) for 5 seconds, the remote may be dead.  You can also try holding Home and Back for 10 seconds which supposedly resets the remote.

A remote can only be paired with one device at a time, so if you want to move a remote from one device to another and back, you'll have to pair it again when you move it back.  My preferred way of pairing a remote is to put the remote into pairing mode and then connect the power to the Roku device.  When pairing a remote to a different device it's helpful to disconnect the power from any other Roku devices so they don't interfere with the pairing process.
