ROKU Stick remote stopped working

My ROKU remote has completely stopped working. I have changed batteries, unplugged, rebooted and nothing helps.

Re: ROKU Stick remote stopped working

Hello @Trckfast

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community!

Try re-pairing your remote to your Roku device by following the instructions below:

  1. Remove the power cable from your Roku device, wait 5 seconds and then re-connect the power cable.
  2. Wait until your Roku device displays the home screen.
  3. Restart your remote. If your remote uses standard batteries, restart your remote by removing and reinserting the batteries.
  4. Press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds until you see the status light begin to flash. If the light does not flash, replace the batteries.
  5. Wait for 30 seconds while the remote establishes a connection with your Roku device.

Once the Roku device is connected to the remote, the pairing dialog should appear on your TV screen.

Let us know if this works for you.

All the best,
Kariza

Re: ROKU Stick remote stopped working

I tried this and it did not work. When I put new batteries in the remote it made a high pitch sound coming from the remote. Nothing lights up at all.

Re: ROKU Stick remote stopped working

I’m having the exact same problem. Tried the recommended steps… replaced the batteries twice, tried the pairing button - nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated b/c the stick is worthless with out the remote.

Thanks!

Hey @rbaker1000

Thanks for the post.

Please reply here with the serial number/device ID of the Roku device associated with the affected remote. It can be located at the back of the stick itself.

Once we have the information needed, we'll be able to forward it to our support team for assistance.

All the best,

Re: ROKU Stick remote stopped working

Hi @GregRok21

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community!

Please be aware that the Roku Streaming Stick (3600) is an older Roku device that is no longer under warranty. It's possible that the remote may simply be on its way out.

Since we currently do not market Roku remotes in Canada, we would recommend checking with online retailers for available Roku remotes.

We appreciate your understanding.

All the best,
Kariza
