REMOTE BATTERIES NEED TO BE REPLACED WEEKLY

This seems to be an issue for a lot of people but I have not found an answer from Roku.  They seem to be in denial?

Model : 3810X - Roku Streaming Stick+

Software : 10.0.0 build 4195-50

No, I do not plug in headphones.  It is not an option on this remote.   I do not use the mic for searching either.

I have heard that the wifi could be the issue.  I have a Verizon Fios router.

I am wasting too much money on batteries to keep this around much longer if this isn't resloved.

Re: REMOTE BATTERIES NEED TO BE REPLACED WEEKLY

Hi @gcatt,

Thank you for letting us know about the remote battery drain issue you are experiencing.

Please perform a system restart from your Roku device. This will update your remote to the latest version. This can be done by navigating to Settings > System > System Restart. After you perform the system update, continue to use your device as normal and monitor the remote battery percentage listed under Settings > Remotes > About. Additionally, if you had moved your Roku device power source to a wall outlet to help address this problem, you may now reconnect the USB cable to your TV's USB port if preferred.
Please let us know if you notice any improvements in battery life or if the issue is persisting.
Many thanks,
Mary

Re: REMOTE BATTERIES NEED TO BE REPLACED WEEKLY

Hi Mary,

This solution, unfortunately, did not work.  The battery level has since dropped from 88% to 55%.  These are brand new batteries.    At this point, my only solution is to find a different streaming device since there appears to be no fix to this problem that many people have been having for a long time.  I cannot recommend roku to others either.

Thank you.

None of these steps work.  Batteries still only last one week.   Constant HDCP errors also.   I am giving up on roku and trying apple tv.
