I have Roku express with simple IR remote. It's been working fine for as long as I've had it (years). Now all the sudden the Roku is needing to set up the remote. The home button works but the system goes right back to the set up screen. The the scrolling left to right jumps icons and the scrolling up and down doesn't stop, the selector just keeps going.......I have tried new batteries and I have unplugged the device....nothing helps
Thanks for the post.
Can you please specify the issue you are experiencing? What specific Roku model device are you using? If your remote is an IR remote, there is no setup of the remote needed. Is your device reseting itself? If you remove the batteries in your remote, do you still see the issue persist?
With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
Yes I have changed batteries and the problem persists. The problem is....as stated above....when I push the scroll button once in any direction to move the selector one position, the selector will continue to scroll through the icons over and over nonstop till I push the okay button. And because the selector is continually scrolling it is difficult to select the icon I want. That is not normal. Normal operation is to push the scroll button once to advance one icon. Another problem, as stated above, is when I go to the home screen the Roku then jumps to the screen needing to set up the remote. ????? Why would that be happening? Esp. when everything has been working fine?
Thanks for the follow up.
Can you please provide the serial number of your Roku device from Settings>System>About? I'll be able to assist you further from there.
Thanks,
Danny
