Private listening issues?

First off thanks for taking the time to read this long post and help me out.

When I try to use private listening, a good portion of the time it stutters, pops, and the audio goes in and out like it's losing connection. Which this happens quite often when watching anything from any streaming service or if I'm trying to cast a movie/tv show. When this occurs it occurs usually only for a handful of seconds and then returns back to normal, until it happens again sometimes within a few seconds.

Then when watching something, a lot of times the audio would start off in sync until the issue that I mentioned in the first paragraph occurred. Then when that issue occurs for the first time after I put something on to watch, the audio would then become out of sync with the lips moving on the screen. When this occurs I turn off private listening off and then immediately turn it back on, and a lot of times it fixed the issue until the issue in the first paragraph occurs again, sometimes within a few seconds. At the same time, when I turn off and then immediately turn on private listening, sometimes it still was out of sync as well.

Which I've tried private listening using $50 Tozo NC9 earbuds and $300 Bose QuietComfort earbuds and both of them do the same thing when using private listening. Also I have gig internet from my ISP, so it has nothing to do with my internet or my internet speed if my issue could possibly have any relations to the internet connection.

So can anybody please tell me what's going on and if there's any fix or temporary fix to fix this issue for me? It got to the point that private listening is becoming completely useless for me at this point.

Re: Private listening issues?

@Bigj011p

Thanks for the post.

Can you please provide more specific information about the issue you are experiencing? What Roku model device are you using? Are you using the remote Private Listening feature, or are you using the Roku mobile app?

With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.

Thanks,
Danny

Re: Private listening issues?

I'm using a Roku Streaming+ and private listening on the app. I've used Tozo NC 9 headphones and Bose QuietComfort headphones and both do the same exact thing. This has been going on for a handful of years with no fix in sight.

I still haven't received any messages back about how to fix this. I explained in the first post about what's going on in detail. I don't know what else you want me to explain to you about my issue. I'm using the Roku app and Bluetooth earbuds directly connected to my phone. Originally I was using a Samsung Galaxy S9±, but in October I purchased the new Google Pixel 6 Pro and I'm still having the same exact issues.

So at this point I know it's definitely not my phone (as I got a brand new device that  released in October that's not related to Samsung), not any internal Bluetooth issues and or my earbuds ($50 Tozo NC9 earbuds and $300 Bose quite comfort earbuds). As both earbuds work perfectly fine with every single other app that uses audio including music streaming like YouTube music, all the movie streaming sites like Netflix, HBO, Max, Hulu, Prime Video, Paramount± and Disney+ all work flawlessly on the phone directly. Even for example if I connect my Roku device to a TV that the TV itself has built in Bluetooth and I use the TV's built in Bluetooth rather than the Roku app for private listening. Then the audio from the Roku device works perfectly fine and is in sync if I do Bluetooth directly from the TV itself. Which at the same time though, not every (most) TV's themselves that I'm going to use with the Roku device has built-in Bluetooth for earbuds/headphones.

So please I know I took a while to respond back to you originally, but instead of ignoring me now please respond and give me some help and advice.  Which I say that because these issue has been going on for years and it doesn't seem to be any fix in sight. Private listening seems to be completely useless for me at least. Like I said, it would be better if Roku devices have Bluetooth built into them and then give you the private listening built into the Roku OS inside the Roku settings on the actual Roku device. This will fix a lot of the issues because at this moment the audio has to travel from the Roku to the HDMI port on the TV, then it has to travel to the phone, then it has to travel to the Roku app that then has to output it to Bluetooth earbuds. So it needs to travel through all these devices before reaching my Bluetooth earbuds, which this is clearly the cause of my syncing issues with private listening.

Also to answer your questions which I tried to do before, but the the comment of me responding back to you got deleted by Roku or the website directly.

Again, I'm using the Roku app for private listening. My remote doesn't give me an option to plug any headphones into the remote, so I'm unable to do that. Plus my earbuds are only Bluetooth with no cable availability, so plugging my headphones into the remote (regardless if there's a plug on the remote or not) is absolutely not feasible for me.  Also the model number for my Roku device is 3810R, it's the streaming stick before the 2021 version.

So I hope that I provided all the information you wanted again because the first comment reply with the information seems to have been deleted. I also hope that this doesn't get ignored anymore and I get a response back from someone at Roku, or at least I see a fix actually occurring when using private listening. Which so far for years it has not been fixed in any capacity yet.
