A Roku Streaming Stick 3800R (2017) that updated to v10.0 will no longer wake the TV when any button is pressed on the Roku remote.
This was NOT a problem before the update to v10.0.
The Roku remote still controls the TV power using the TV power button and the TV volume using the volume buttons.
What is the solution to this new problem?
Even prior to OS 10 it sometimes took more than one button press to turn the system on. But it's still working for me with 10 on my Ultra and Premiere. You might check the settings in the Roku and make sure that One-Touch Play is still enabled. And of course CEC has to be enabled on the TV as well. Again, it should still be what it was before, but perhaps your TV also received a firmware update that changed the setting. Stranger things have happened...
I noticed issues on both Roku Streaming Stick+ after the update. One may have resolved itself.
The other one won't come back from sleep mode, but my TV functions as expected (volume, power). When I go to the Roku app it says that device isn't on the network, but it is. I have to unplug every time. After unplugging, no issues with Stick or showing in app on network. I try to run an update but no update is available. I've bounced the wireless several times to no avail.
1. Roku Streaming Stick+ software 10.0.0 build 4185 updated 4.28.2021 model 3800x series YF00GG126366. This worked fine before last week.
Thanks for the post.
How are you powering the Roku device? Is the device plugged into the TV USB port or is it plugged into a wall outlet? When trying to get the device out of sleep mode, are you pressing a specific button on the remote?
With more information we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
