I don't want the Roku Streaming+ to turn off my TV or control the sound. How do I accomplish that?
Redo programming but lie, after confiming you hear the music keep pressing NO, until the music doesn't mute, then click yes. It should now by set to tv other then yours.
settings> remote & devices> remote> remote in use> program tv> follow prompts> but lie!
Thanks, will give it a try
Unfortunately, that didn't work. I hit NO several times, then the only choice is to cancel setup.
My remote doesn't have TV controls so I may not fully understand, but doesn't the Roku ask you the brand of TV during this process? I would expect most wrong brands to not work. (Possibly a few wrong brands will work since codes overlap.)
I chatted and was advised the Roku doesn't turn off. U leave it on.
That's correct, but I thought we were talking about the TV.
Thanks for the posts.
Can you please clarify your original inquiry?
With more information we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,

I think I received the answer. The power button is to turn off the television but not to turn off Roku. Is that correct? I also did not want the Roku remote to be able to change the volume. How do I accomplish that?
Yes, the power button is for the TV, for removing volume control, that was answered earlier, though it will probably also remove TV power control unless you can find a "wrong" TV code that still agrees on the the power - ie: code matches for TV power, but doesn't for TV volume. There's a chance that such a code exists, but don't count on it.
That said, maybe you don't really need the TV power button on the Roku remote either, in which case it is easy.
