Pairing a roku streaming device remote with a Samsung TV

I’m trying to set up my Roku remote to a Samsung smart TV, but I am having extreme issues. None of the directions that I am reading is working. Can someone please help me and guide me to get this to work

With remote controlling the Roku Stick, go into Roku settings:

 

settings> remote & devices> remote> remote in USE> program tv> IR setup> follow prompts
