Paired remote not working

Hi All! My Roku remote Is not working! I changed the batteries and went through the pairing process, and in the settings it says that my remote is connected, but when I point the remote at the device nothing happens. None of the controls work. The app works, but I would prefer having a working remote! Thank you

You say you're pairing the remote. Then you say you point the remote at the Roku. The WiFi Direct remotes that pair don't require you to point the remote at the Roku, since they're using a wireless, but not infrared, connection.

So, what model Roku do you have? Settings > System > About

Is your remote a Voice Remote? Does it have a button underneath the battery compartment?

If you see the word connected on the home screen it isn't referring to your remote being connected, that means its connected to the internet.
