No pairing button on remote

My old remote does not work and I do not have it anymore. I have a new remote that has no pairing button. How do I pair or set up this new remote to my Roku stick

You can't, only roku remote the roku stick uses are wifi remotes, which HAVE to have a pairing button to link it to the roku. Without a pairing button it is an IR remote, worthless on roku sticks. That's if you really got a roku stick? First of all is it purple? And does it have hdmi connnector premanently attached? Or does it have hdmi port to plug in a hdmi cable?
