I have an older rca tv (2009) in my bedroom. My roku express and voice remote have always worked fine on it. Then my voice remote died and new one just came today. It paired with my roku device but will not work to control my tv power or volume. The set up music does not stop playing and eventually it tells me ‘this remote cannot work with this tv’. I even tried Sony, Durabrand and a few other different tv codes. Any ideas?

Try Proscan, Goldstar, LG, or Vizio.

Just tried all four no luck. So odd. I r been waiting two weeks for this stinking thing cause the first one got lost in the mail and they had to send a new one and now it doesn’t work 🤦‍♀️

If you have cellphone hotspot, turn it on set the Roku to it, then try programming the tv brand. If it works you can go back to the home internet.

Still nothing. Could it just be the remote 🤦‍♀️ Could it be able to pair but just won’t connect to my tv. Not getting it.
