I got a new simple remote and can't get it to connect to a roku streaming stick test used a simple remote that had the reset button inside the battery cover. Do those old streaming sticks not work with the new simple remotes?

The Roku Stick models will not work with the standard IR-based Simple Remotes. They will only work with WiFi-Direct (RF-based) Voice Remotes.

If your Roku Stick is a 3400 or 3420 model from 2012, keep in mind that both models are no longer supported and are considered “Legacy Products.” I’d suggest replacing your Roku Stick model with either the 3820 or 3821 model from 2021.

@mnrotgr, the model number of your stick would help. If it's purple (or model 3500) Roku no longer makes a remote that will work with it.
