I just bought a model 2710x from an auction with no remote. I went and got the only Roku remote from walmart. The voice remote. I plugged in the box and it comes up let's get started and asks me to choose a language but I can't pair my remote. Held the button to make light blink and nothing happens.

Hopefully @Tivoburkee will come along.  He knows a lot about remotes.

I just wanted to point out that that device came out in 2013 so don't expect too much. (For example, Amazon says that Prime Video won't work on it.)

Currently you can get a modern Roku (with a remote) for about $25.  If you're patient, I've seen them on sale for even less.

Sorry but the 2710 express + can only be controlled by an IR remote. NO voice remotes.
