NEW VOICE REMOTE PRO WORKS INTERMITTENTLY, WORKED FINE FOR A WEEK! THE NEW ROKU ULTRA DOES NOT WORK!

I have been a Roku user for 15 years, since the beginning. I just bought the new Roku Ultra 2024, which I should never have purchased. They say it is faster and might be, but it only works half the time. The remote works intermittently, and the device sleeps after a few minutes of pause or inaction. It is a pain to find. CEC does not work. It is the worst Roku device I have tried in 15 years, so much so that this is my first time with a Roku device complaint and writing in this community. I even had to route the device through a Phillips HUE HDMI sync box so that it would wake up and be forced to restart every time I used it because otherwise, it would show as no input on my HDMI1 port. The remote is a challenge to use as it is just intermittent. It dies on you as there is no backlight while pressing most of the time. At this time, I am just throwing this out there and hoping I can get an RMA for it. I have reset to factory defaults. I reset the network more times than I would have liked, and nothing. Having used more than 20 Roku devices already, it looks like it is either a defective unit or, hopefully, not something worse. If this happened to someone new to Roku, I believe they would have never gotten it to work. As easy and user-friendly as the platform is, the last device I bought was a challenge, so do not buy the new Roku Ultra 2024. This might be an isolated case, but I fear that is not the case.

I think at least some of your issues may be due to not having experience with the auto power savings feature (which can be turned off.) That's not supposed to happen until 20 minutes, but that may fit your definition of "few".

CEC I turn off anyway so I can't say anything about that.

I have seen lots of complaints about Roku remotes for around a year or so now. It doesn't seem to follow specific models as far as I can see. I think Roku changed OEMs for the remotes or the remote maker changed something in the keypad. (I'm talking about button quality/reliability here - there is another unpredictable problem with battery life that has gone on much longer - I think that one may depend on the Wi-Fi environment.)

I would say if anyone sees some missed or hard to press buttons (on any model) within the store's return period, return/exchange it immediately.  Most stores make that very easy.

Banned but back. Because why not?
