If a Roku device is not connected to a network, you must have a remote to connect it. Walmart, Best Buy, and a lot of other places carry Roku remotes.

Which Roku model do you have? You say you lost the remote. But was your Roku hooked to your WiFi before? The app will only work if your device is already connected to WiFi
