LG 32LD400 working with Roku Streaming Stick+ Voice Remote suddenly stopped controlling Volume Down

Can't figure out what else to try.  Have checked firmware on the Roku, changed batteries, done system reboot, tried all 50 pairing codes.

The remote still controls TV Power and Volume Up.  

The Volume button, mechanically, feels normal and the remote doesn't show any other signs of damage.

Everything did work well since setup 8/2018.  Just can't seem to figure out why Volume Down no longer works.

Do I have a bad remote or is there something else to try?

Even $500 universal remotes keys stop working over time, they lose their conductivity. I had box of $100 each universal remotes with keys no longer working, one $150 didn't last 3 months. It was the URC made mx-650, terrible remote. So if a high price remotes quit working $20 remote can too.

I hear you, I am not against replacing, I guess my concern is whether there was a firmware pushed out from Roku that may have changed the functionality.  Tying to avoid buying a new remote if it turns out it is a bug in the firmware that will be addressed shortly?
