I just bought (a week ago!!!) the Ultra Light (switching from Express) for the sole purpose of the private listening option. I think I got a bad remote because the remote does not recognize when I plug the earbuds into the remote and does not work! It does work with the mobile app, but does not work when plugged into the remote. But I specifically bought it for the remote feature. Could my new remote have a bad earbud jack? This is so frustrating - I would have never spent the money on a new Ultra Lt Roku if I new it would not work.
Try pairing your remote again. Go to Settings->Remotes & devices->Set up a new device.
The older Ultra LT is down to $30, that's about what new remote would cost. 🙂
Thanks for your message. I did try re-pairing the remote several times. The remote itself works great --- but not the earbud part of it. The earbuds work in my phone and other devices....so I am assuming that it is a bad earbud jack on the remote.
Thanks but, I just bought the newer version of the Ultra LT and don't think I should have to now buy a new remote for something I just bought. I am going to try to see if ROKU will make this right.
The Roku LT is Walmart Exclusive, it should be walmart who makes it right. Do factory reset, take it back for an exchange.
