If I bought a 2nd remote as a backup, will it work...or would the remotes work at cross purposes? I would like to buy a 2nd one because I am forever misplacing my original...thank you
I have three wifi remotes linked to the Roku Streaming Stick 4K+ on my main tv in the living room, spread around to different seating areas. All work.
It being an IR or Wifi Roku remote you can multiple remotes control your Roku device, no problem.
With IR remotes you can have thousands – just don't press buttons on all of them at the same time. (All rokus except the stick models will accept IR.)
With RF remotes, they need to be paired. I don’t know if Roku supports multiple paired remotes at once. (Edit: Based on Tivoburkee's post, apparently they do.)
There's also a phone app. (Though as people eventually find out, the phone app won't work if you change to a new network name/router/ISP until you hook the Roku up using a real remote.)

I have two working with my Roku Ultra. I've tested them side-by-side and both can control the LG TV
Thanks to everyone who responded...I am definitely going to purchase a 2nd remote based on your helpful informations...
