So our remote for our roku hasn’t work for quite a while, we always use the app. But as you know your roku has to be connected to the wifi to be able to use the app. So our problem is we can’t connect the roku to the wifi because our remote doesn’t work. Is there anyway around this?

Unless you change your WiFi SSID/password to match whatever may be saved in the Roku, you'll need a remote.

Assuming it isnt a stick model,  you can get a universal remote pre-programmed for Roku for $10 from Walmart/Amazon/etc:

If its a stick model, you'll need to get one of the WiFi Direct/"Point Anywhere" remotes:
