I can pause, play, and home my roku express with my own body movement

So super frustrating issue I’ve had off and on for awhile now.  My roku remote reacts to me moving around my living room.  I can literally wave an arm or leg around and it will pause…. Play…. Or even go home.  
  I’ve gotten good at controlling it this way but I look silly doing it and am tired of sitting completely still on order to watch a show.  Please help

If you take the batteries out of the remote does it happen?  Is there sunlight or some other bright light hitting the front of the Roku?  Try moving it around a little.
