I can't open the remote either.  There is NO way to slide any part of the back (which is in ONE piece).

The voice pro remote doesn't  have replaceable batteries plain and simple. What it has is rechargeable batteries, look for usb port under the Roku name flag.

I can’t open mine either. Mine hasn’t got three lines to help with grip, just a smooth indentation. It’s like it’s glued shut 🤬

@Grl1, are you certain it's not a rechargeable remote with a pairing button on the back and a micro-USB connector by the purple Roku tag?

@Tucker3, "smaller black cap"?  Can you post a picture?  Is there a USB port on the end with the purple tag?  If so, it's rechargeable and isn't meant to open.

Hi, @Tucker3. Thank you for your post in the Roku Community!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We would like to provide additional information to clarify what @renojim mentioned. Please see the picture below to identify your remote.

The left image above illustrates that if the pairing button is visible on the back of the remote and it features a USB port, it is advisable not to open it, as it is designed to be rechargeable.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Jharra
