You read that wrong.

I will not gamble on buying a 2nd Roku that may or may not fulfill my needs and I will not buy another device that will definitively not fulfill my needs. 

I just wont buy until I find what I'm looking for.

I'm following you now. Sorry.

Now, if all you really want is a remote that has a button for any particular app, then you could just get a Voice Remote Pro, which has two additional and programmable buttons. If the defined buttons don't cover what you want, program one of those.

I don't think those are sold in Canada, so that's probably not going to help. So, until Roku makes those available there, you're probably out of luck.

After an upgrade last year Roku remotes with 1 & 2 keys in Canada no longer worked, I hope Roku fixed it since?
