Extreme lag from Premiere+ remote - inputs take up to a minute to register

I have a Roku Premiere+ 3921 series hooked up to a Vizio P759-G1. When I use the remote that came with the Roku, the TV power and volume work just fine. However, when I use any of the buttons that control the Roku, it takes a while, up to a minute, for the Roku to actually react. Once it does, it'll work fine with no lag for 10–15 seconds, and then it will go back to having the crazy lag time.

I've tried replacing the batteries a couple of times, buying a new remote, changing wifi networks, moving the Roku close to the router, and none of these things are helping.

When I use the remote on the iOS Roku app, there is never any lag time.

Any ideas?

First thing I'd try would be a restart of the Premiere+.   Settings/System/System restart

Thanks. Forgot to mention I've tried restarting and completely resetting the Roku as well.
