Don't buy Roku Stick!!

I bought a stick four months ago and have been replacing the remote batteries every two weeks, and Roku is not standing behind its product. I've been on chat with them and we communicate via email. They give me instructions that I follow, and nothing changes. This is a piece of junk. I'm so sorry I wasted my money on it. And because of this, I no longer trust any Roku products. Just look at how many people complain about remote issues. Shame on Roku.

My Stick works great. I wonder what I'm doing wrong.

We see lots of similar complaints here, but over the years I've had 5 different Rokus, including the two Stick products shown in my signature below and have never had this problem.

For support on this issue @RokuDanny-R usually asks people to send him a Private message including your serial number and a description of your problem.

Re: Don't buy Roku Stick!!

I wish sending a message to Danny was the answer. I did that - several times. I have two different service tickets open with Roku. With each, they gave me steps to take - which I took both times. But the steps did NOT stop the remote from eating batteries. It is a bad remote, and Roku has done nothing to replace it. They keep saying it's the software. Meanwhile, the new batteries I installed yesterday are now down to 84% in less than 24 hours. The stick is great. The remote is a disaster.

Re: Don't buy Roku Stick!!

My stick works great, too. But it eats batteries at a rate of 16% and greater in a 24-hour period. At this rate, the stick is a very costly item.

Re: Don't buy Roku Stick!!

I installed five combined at my house and my mothers several months ago (not quite a year). I have replaced the batteries in one of them. The other four are sill on the original batteries.
